SEND Information
At Ashington CofE Primary School, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to participate fully in all activities and enjoy the same experiences alongside their peers. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels valued and that their individual strengths and qualities are recognised and celebrated.
Educational inclusion is central to our ethos, promoting equal opportunities for all pupils. We pay particular attention to the provision for, and progress of, different groups of learners to ensure that all children can succeed.
At times, some children may require additional support to help them reach their full potential. In such cases, special educational provision may be needed. We recognise that every child has unique needs, and we use a range of strategies to support and meet these needs effectively.
The term ‘Special Educational Needs’ (SEND) refers to learning difficulties or disabilities that make it more challenging for children to learn compared to others of the same age. Children with SEND may require additional or different support, known as special educational provision.
We provide appropriate and tailored support for children with additional needs through our dedicated staff and adaptive approach. Most support is delivered within the classroom environment, although some children may receive targeted interventions, either individually or in small groups.
