The Vision of the School

Christian values

Our Christian vision is at the heart of everything we do in school and central to our relationship with our children's families and the wider community. It has its basis in the following passage:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

The roots of our vision for every member of our school community are embedded in love; our core Christian value. From this central premise; that everyone is loved by God and that, as we have been taught in the Bible, we should love one another, the basis for all our decisions and actions come from love. Three main values branch from this one and are key to the success of all in our school community: trust, forgiveness and hope. Trust is built between children and staff, children and their peers and between adults. Forgiveness is encouraged and modelled by all adults. All our children know they are loved, we build their trust, we forgive and we move forward with hope and perseverance, for we know that:

  • Every child can excel
  • No ceiling is ever put on achievement
  • All members of the school community are respected, supported and individual qualities and achievements are celebrated
  • Children are at the heart of planning for their learning
  • Every child learns outside for at least 25% of the time
  • Our curriculum is dynamic, creative and fully inclusive

We believe our Christian values give our children strong foundations to know how to treat others, make good choices and contribute positively to society when they leave us.
