Headteacher's Welcome

I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as the new Headteacher of Ashington C of E Primary school and I am very much looking forward to getting to know all of the children and families in September.

The stunning learning environment and the vision of 'Love never fails' is what drew me to this wonderful school and I promise wholeheartedly that every decision we make as a staff team will have Love at its very centre. Ensuring children develop a Love of Themselves, Love of Others, Love of Learning and Love of God. We want the children of Ashington to grow into the best version of themselves that they can be, with the knowledge and skills to succeed in society and contribute positively to the wider world. Throughout my long career in education, be it teaching, leading staff or training future teachers, I have been unwavering in achieving this aim for all children.

I believe children flourish when they feel known and loved and I intend to get to know every Ashington child and their family fully, starting with learning everyone’s names (please bear with me as I learn!) When I’m on the gate, do come up and say hello and introduce yourself to me and my dog Scout, we would love to meet you! Please remember this is a new school for Scout too with a different environment and new children to get used to, so a calm approach followed by letting her sniff your hand first before you ask to stroke her will help her settle in and learn a lot about all of you too!

I know that a successful and happy school depends on collaboration. As families, you make a hugely important contribution to your children’s achievements and I’m so excited to share in your child’s learning with you. With strong partnerships, children, staff, families and Governors all working together, imagine what we can achieve for the children of Ashington!

I will be holding a number of events over the next term, including meet-and-greet coffee mornings (dates to follow) and I look forward to meeting many of you there. These meetings will take place at several different times in the hope that as many families as possible will have the opportunity to attend.

I wish you and your families the most wonderful Summer! I can’t wait to welcome you all in September and feel very privileged to be leading Ashington C of E School in the new academic year and into the brightest of futures.

Kindest Regards

Mrs. Adele Buck

Headteacher
